MICHAEL SCHERK SETS RECORDS, COMPETES FOR CANADA AT PAN AMERICAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Currently a Junior at Duke University in North Carolina, NorWesters athlete Michael Scherk broke a 57-year-old Duke record in 2025 with 13.69 in the 110m Hurdles. This time also set a new BC record for the U23 category, and tied him in 1st place in Canada’s 2025 Outdoor Season alongside Olympian Craig Thorne. As a result of his performances this season, Michael was selected to join Team Canada to compete at the Junior Pan-Ams in Paraguay in August, where he placed 6th in the Finals for his event.
