Marlena Tresnjo wins silver medal in U18 Heptathlon at Canadian Championships. 

NorWesters Athlete , sixteen year old Marlena Tresnjo, was also chosen to the BC Team to compete at the U 20 Canadian Championships in Langley where she placed fourth in the high jump. Her best jump of the season of  1.78m places her first in the U18 division in Canada.

As well she was chosen to travel with the BC Team to the Canadian Legion Youth Championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec where she won silver in the heptathlon while competing against girls a year older. Marlena went into these two Championships following a very successful season in BC. She won five medals at the BC High School Championships  gold in High Jump, bronze in long jump, bronze in heptathlon, bronze in 4x100m and silver in the 4x400m relay. At the BC Jamboree Club Championships she won gold in the heptathlon. Heptathlon is an event where the combined scores for 100 metre hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 metre dash, long jump, javelin throw, and the 800 metre run are computed. It is truly the test of a well rounded athlete.
