ELENA VOLOSHIN - JD: Sprints, Jumps

Elena started her Track & Field life when she was 11 years old. As a young athlete she was a sprinter and a hurdler but at 15 years old moved to the heptathlon, and became a professional athlete. At age 18 she began long jumping and later triple jumping. She has jumped an outstanding 6.46 meters in the Long Jump, and an equally phenomenal 13.50 m in the triple. Competing at the international level she won many competitions and awards.

In 1990 she was one of the top 25 Triple Jumpers in the world but unfortunately she was unable to recover following a knee injury. “My sport life was very hard with lots of injuries and pain” she says, “but at the end with a lot of wins and happiness.”

She has a Coaching Diploma and a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, and continues to pursue Canadian certifications. She now uses her professional knowledge and experience to help young athletes achieve their best.
